

On 13 September 2012, Fiasco published a video interview in which Chief Keef was amended. Chief Keef believed that his account had been compromised and that the tweet was not his. A tweet from Chief Keef's account threatening Fiasco was posted on 5 September.

Chief Keef was arrested on 5 March 2014 in Highland Park, Illinois, for driving under the influence of marijuana, for driving on a revoked license and for not having proof of insurance.based marketing firm, for $75,000 for a missed series. A hearing was set for 20 November 2012, but was eventually postponed and moved to 15 January 2013. It was in response to a video interview he conducted at the shooting range, which included footage of the weapon.

Cook County prosecutors asked the judge to hold him to juvenile custody on 17 October 2012 for alleged breach of parole. Coleman's mother publicly believed that Chief Keef had been paid to kill her family.

As a juvenile offender, he was found to be a “delinquent” rather than guilty of his charges and served time under house arrest. On 27 January 2011, Chief Keef was arrested on charges of heroin manufacture and distribution.
